An “Interesting” Day

So today was an “interesting” day. Work was going well. I had an impromptu meeting that went great. I went to get a prescription and began my journey home. I was cruising along when three cars ahead slam on the breaks, the next follows suit, the next hits their breaks and lets off, and then slams again. I slam on mine and veer to the left, and almost had it and BAM! A small bump was all. He was extremely nice and we exchanged information and went out separate ways. I drop of the prescription and wait, and then get some groceries. Driving into my apartment complex, my car stops working. Everything goes dead including the breaks. I pull into my regular parking spot and get the car to stop. I turn the car off, and then try to start it again. Smoke began to escape from the hood. I pull the hood release handle and step out. As my foot hits the ground I see small flames underneath the hood. I go to pull hood out and it won’t open. My heart now racing, I run to my apartment to grab a fire extinguisher and come back to the car. Spraying at any angle I can find I use the entire bottle. Now flamers are flicking from under the hood like a snake sensing a foe. I look around thinking this isn’t happening when the flames start getting larger. I call 911 and explain what’s going on. By the time I hang up the phone I can hear the fire truck coming. As they are pulling into the parking lot the flames had reached about 3 feet above the roof of the truck. They try to get into the engine compartment with any means necessary. Crowbars and axes are their main tools. What follows is what I see after the flames go down. What an amazing day. I hope this makes sense I have told this story to about every neighbor I have so hopefully it flows. I am okay and car can be replaced. What an “interesting” day.

Still tastes the same

Ask yourself this question:
If it tastes bad the first time, do you really think the taste will change?
Common sense lends to the idea that it won’t
Yet we all have done it
Maybe this time it will be different?
But once again your senses outweigh your optimism
Consistent hope in a different outcome without change is futile
Things don’t change
Thing still taste the same

New Horizon

Seeking completion crawls closer to resolution
Yet still is incomplete
Fighting tooth and nail has served its time
Now a different approach must be found
A relaxed touch?
A softer touch?
Something must change
Another journey lies ahead
Seeking completion crawls closer to resolution

I don’t have a chip on my shoulder I have a Grudge

About a year ago I saw probably the scariest movies know to man… well at least this one. The Grudge made it so I now have to make sure my closet door is ALWAYS shut before I can fall asleep. Well I thought my fears were finally starting to subside when they had to go and make another! Now when I am watching the Simpson’s or any show, there is a chance that I have to be reminded of my fear. I know there are people out there that felt the movie wasn’t that scary, but I did. I can honestly say that no movie has freaked me out the way that movie did. Example:
I woke up in the middle of the night last night and had trouble falling asleep. I wanted to put the blanket over my head due to the neon-isk sign that is my alarm clock was blinding me. Well I couldn’t. Cause these commercials reminded me of a scene where a woman lifted up her blanket and there was the girl….. I am NO OFFICALLY FREAKED OUT. How sad is it that I am getting scared as we speak. Don’t get me wrong I love being scared but enough is enough.
Even during my “Zombie Movie Streak” where I literally watched all the most recent zombie movies: 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, Shawn of the Dead (not scary but made me remember Dawn of the Dead) and others. Yes I made sure I had my golf club, butterfly knife, and a .45(fake) next to the bed but that was more funny. I even had an escape route and plan:
Best Case Scenario: Get to one of my vehicles, with keys
Best/Realistic Scenario: Get to Van and get in back (van has a metal cage surrounding it)
Realistic Scenario: Get to bathroom (one door, and yes I have a can of tomato soup in there)
Worst Case Scenario: Fight them off till I die
Nonetheless I have a lot of time on my hand, a very active imagination, and I live alone.
But to my point, we need to get rid of the commercial for this movie. My sleep pattern will thank you. Your comments are welcomed and will look like a petition!

On my way home

So I was on my way home and I looked into the sky and saw an unbelievable image. It was a winding mess of clouds. I had to pull over and take this picture. Never forget you camera phone!!!

A Fog

It is interesting. I was driving to work one day and had to pull over. The fog was getting really thick and it was hard to see. I looked out in front of me and saw this structure. I then proceeded to look behind me and saw shapes of cars going past me. And all of a sudden it struck me. For too long I have lived in the past and future. Worrying about what I am going to do in the next 10 years and what happened in the last 6 years I forgot about today. I looked in front of me and behind me again and felt like… this is the way I should view my life. Reflect on the past, relish in the present, and choose your future.

A fog has fallen over me like a driver
It hinders my view of the past and future
I cannot see the road that lies ahead
An outline has been formed but nothing more
I cannot see what lies behind
A shape has formed but nothing more
My only focus is now
And nothing more
